Course description:
The study of the evolution of media arts and underlying principles of communication. Application development paradigms in current practice.

Textbook: No textbook required. Recommended reading materials will be posted accordingly.

Grading system:

	About 10 homework assignments	20 points each
	About 12 quizzes	5 points each
	Project	50 points
	Midterm report	30 points
	Forum participation	5 points
	Achievements	up to 12 points (extra credit)

Guidelines for assignments:

• The assignments will be posted on the course web page and on Oncourse under Resources. The Quizzes will be available on Oncourse under Tests & Surveys.
• The assignments are due at midnight of the due date.
• The assignments and projects must be submitted on Oncourse under Assignments. Big files (over 5Mb) can be submitted as an IU Box link or equivalent (make sure to set the permissions right).
• No homework accepted after 2 weeks from the due date. A homework turned in 1 week late loses 25% of the points. A homework turned in 2 weeks late loses 50% of the points.
• The assignments are individual unless specified otherwise. Groups will be designated for challenging homeworks in terms of programming and for projects.
