eTutor is a Windows 95/98 program I worked on for Dr. Ali R. Montazemi while he was a professor at Indiana University South Bend. It is written in Visual Basic 6.0 and uses ADO with an Access database. eTutor is a data driven tutorial application which incorporates instructional material, testing, audiovisual presentations, and internet links. Student progress is tracked for both the learning and testing sessions. Progress reports can be viewed by the student and there is an FTP command within the program to facilitate the transfer of the reports to the instructor. Optional Case Studies can be included in the support material. A notepad editor is accessible from within the program for students to write reports and notes. The application has the capability to automatically check a specified FTP server for updates to the database. Dynamic web pages were developed for inclusion in the project which was written as an update to the DOS MIS-Tutor. eTutor is available for select texts from McGraw-Hill. |
