- 15,000 -13,000 BC, first cave paintings.
- 3500 BC - the roots of music, Mesopotamia.
- 3000 BC - firelight projection shows in China.
- 500 BC - actor-based stage theater invented in Greece.
- 1540 - movable type invented in UK by J. Gutenberg.
- 1702 - the first daily newspaper published in the UK.
- 1837 - L. Daguerre invents the daguerreotype, the first form of photography. The same year S. Morse invents the telegraph.
- 1851 - D. Brewster introduces the stereoscope for 3D viewing.
- 1876 - A. G. Bell makes the first phone call.
- 1877 - T. Edison invents the phonograph, the first sound recorder.
- 1888 - T. Edison and W. Dickson invent the kinetograph, the first motion picture camera.
