Linux Duplicate CD
This method first creates a CD image file in the /tmp
directory. It then writes the CD from the CD image file. This
method is more error free and faster than copying the CD on the fly (read
CD to write CD). To copy on the fly, use these instructions
as a guide, but lower the CD write speed to 2 or 4.

Open a console text window.

Enter: xhost +

Enter: sudo xcdroast

A warning message appear asking if you want to continue.
Click on "Yes".

The main window appears with a menu on the left side.

Select: [Duplicate CD] button. The Duplicate CD Windows
opens.

Insert source and destination CD's. If autoexecute
starts close the popup windows.

Select: [Read CD] button.

Set read speed to: 32 (or less).

Set "File Prefix" to name the image file you will create.

Select: [Read All Tracks] button at bottom.

Wait for "Tracks Successfully Read" message to indicate read
is completed.

Select [Verify CD] button on the left side menu. (Optional).

Select: [Verify Tracks] button at bottom.

Wait for "Tracks Successfully Verified" message to indicate
verify is completed.

If verify fails go back to [Read CD] step above.

Remove origional CD. Linux often auto mounts a CD when
it is inserted.

You may need to unmount your source CD before you can remove
it from the drive.

Right click on the CD graphic icon on the desktop and select
unmount.

Or open a console window and enter: umount /mnt/cdrom1.

Select: [Write CD] button on the left side menu.
(Testing Phase. Optional.)

Set write speed (lower box) to 8 or less.

Select: "Simulate Write" option box.

Unselect: "Eject After Write" option box.

Select. [Write CD] button at bottom.

Wait for "Tracks Successfully Written" message to indicate
simulation is completed.

If simulate write fails to back to read or verify step above.

Select: [Write CD] button on the left side. (Writing
Phase.)

Set write speed (lower box) to 8 (or less).

UnSelect: "Simulate Write" option box.
-
Select: "Eject After Write" option box.
-
Select: [Write CD] button at bottom.
-
Wait for "Tracks Successfully Written" message to indicate
writing is completed.
